Portugal’s best and Manchester United’s darling midfielder, Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was brought into this world on February 5, 1985 in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. His mother Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro and father Jose Dinis Aveiro had four children. His parents decided to name this future famous footballer after someone that you wouldn’t think a Portuguese family would normally consider. He was named after the 40th President of the United States, Ronald Reagan.A passionate desire to play on the field and an undying love for football, Cristiano’s interest in the great sport of football started when he was just three years old. When Cristiano was around ten or so, word of his spectacular skills on the field was getting around his native country of Portugal. The young midfielder was soon getting a lot of much deserved interest from some of the most popular clubs in Portugal; Cristiano’s football future was looking very bright.
After stints with three different youth clubs, Andorinha, CD Nacional, and Sporting CP’s youth club, Ronaldo finally made his debut with his first senior club, Sporting CP or Sporting Clube de Portugal. An influential impression was made against his current club Manchester United in 2003 in front of world famous football manager Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United. This match resulted in an embarrassing loss for one of the English Premiership League’s best, Sporting handed Manchester United a beating with a final score of 3-1. Not only did Ferguson take notice of Cristiano’s amazing performance but the Manchester United players were absolutely blown away by the midfielder’s play. Cristiano Ronaldo’s on field heroics stirred up so much talk about him from the opposing United players that they were saying something that almost never gets said about any opponent, they said they would much rather play with him, rather than against him. What was to follow was nothing short of a surprise to many as a young Portuguese player was soon to take the world of football by storm.After a scintillating performance against the most famous football club in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo received instant respect and was finally considered as an elite football player.
To Cristiano’s fortune Manchester United was in dire need of a midfielder after superstar David Beckhman left to play for Real Madrid.The void created by Beckham was huge and Manchester United had to fill it up with a superstar who could take them to the promised land. After a lot of speculation and drama surrounding the replacement, Manchester United finally signed Cristiano Ronaldo after his stint with Sporting CP ended in 2003.From the very day Cristiano signed with Manchester United, his football career took off and hasn’t slowed since. In the same year he also made his debut for the national team of Portugal playing in a match against Kazakhastan. In the following year, Ronaldo put up one of his best performances. In the World Cup qualifying games the superstar midfielder scored 7 goals and made his presence felt in the Portuguese national team. Only a year later in 2005, Cristiano Ronaldo netted 11 goals for his country in 25 appearances. Although the up and coming superstar was making waves in the international football stage, controversy hit in the 2006 World Cup and it involved someone that was closely linked to him at his club Manchester United.Manchester United teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, striker for the English squad received a red card in a very important match, England versus Portugal in the World Cup quarterfinals.
The real conflict wasn’t Rooney getting booted; it was the reason for the ejection that started the controversy that might have possibly turned the Manchester United squad upside down.Arguably, most would agree that the whole situation was not the fault of Cristiano Ronaldo, but Rooney got in a dust up with a few of the Portugal players and Ronaldo got in the middle of the scuffle, bad idea. Unfortunately for Rooney, he accidentally stepped on the groin area of one of the Portuguese players. Ronaldo came up to the referee when Rooney was pleading his case and the English striker took it the wrong way and pushed his Manchester United teammate which eventually resulted in Rooney being sent off with a red card.Once the dust settled and Portugal subsequently eliminated England from the World Cup, there was a lot of tension in the clubhouse of Manchester United and all signs pointed towards disaster. Cristiano Ronaldo was convinced that he needed to leave the famous football club since he felt it just couldn’t be the same between Rooney and himself after the World Cup, it was said he had his eyes on Spain’s popular club, Real Madrid.Wayne Rooney saw things a little differently though, he wanted Cristiano to stay and why not, Cristiano is a premier player. Rooney and Sir Alex Ferguson approached the midfielder before he made any rash decisions and eventually convinced him not to leave the club. After all was said and done, Rooney said the reason he got so mad because he didn’t want his United teammate to get involved and when Ronaldo did, he just snapped and disappointed.
As a result of what happened between Cristiano and Rooney, English fans lashed out against Ronaldo and he subsequently lost a lot of his fan base in England. Cristiano was booed and heavily criticized, being blamed for the exit of the English national team. Even with all of this controversy, problems and hatred from English fans that surrounded Cristiano following the aftermath of the World Cup, he responded with an impressive year with Manchester United and an eventual won the hearts of a large number of English fans who were ready to forgive the young man.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s legacy as a footballer has basically just started and there will be many more World Cups and Manchester United matches, but one thing is undeniable, Ronaldo is one of the best in the world and he will be a midfielder to keep your eye on especially playing next to such great football players like Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ronaldo s-a născut în Madeira, Portugalia, fiul Mariei Dolores dos Santos Aveiro şi al lui José Dinis Aveiro (1954 – Londra, 5 septembrie 2005). Are un frate mai mare, Hugo (n. 1975), precum şi două surori mai mari, Elma (n. 1974) şi Liliana Cátia (n. Madeira, 5 octombrie 1976). Liliana Cátia este o cântăreaţă cu numele de scenă „Ronalda” în Portugalia. Al doilea nume al lui Cristiano („Ronaldo”) este relativ rar în Portugalia. Părinţii l-au numit astfel în cinstea fostului preşedinte american Ronald Reagan[1] Tatal său l-a înscris la un club sportiv din Lisabona.La 10 ani echipe renumite doreau ca să-l achiziţioneze.
Carieră
A început să se joace cu mingea de fotbal pe când avea trei ani,chiar visa sa ajunga la Manchester United, şi când a început şcoala, la şase ani, pasiunea lui pentru acest sport devenise evidentă. Echipa lui favorită era Benfica Lisabona, chiar dacă avea să ajungă la rivala Sporting. A jucat iniţial la o echipă de amatori, Andorinha, unde tatăl său se ocupa de echipament, pe când avea doar şase ani. În 1995, când Cristiano avea doar zece ani, era deja cunoscut în Portugalia. Cele mai bune echipe din Madeira, CS Maritimo şi CD Nacional, erau amândouă interesate de serviciile sale. Maritimo, echipa mai mare, a ratat o întâlnire crucială cu Rui Santos, managerul Andorinhei, astfel încât Ronaldo a semnat pentru Nacional. După o campanie care a avut drept rezultat câştigarea titlului, Ronaldo a participat la un trial de trei zile la Sporting Lisabona, care l-a achiziţionat pentru o sumă care nu a fost făcută publică.

La Sporting Lisabona a jucat 25 de meciuri , în care a înscris 3 goluri.Cel care la promovat în echipa a lui Sporting a fost antrenorul romăn Ladislau Bölöni , pe cînd Cristiano avea 17 ani. Ronaldo s-a alăturat jucătorilor de tineret ai lui Sporting, care se antrenau pe Alcochete, „fabrica de fotbal” a clubului, şi acolo a primit instrucţiuni valoroase. Sporting şi-a dat seama că Ronaldo avea nevoie de mai multă susţinere, şi au aranjat lucrurile pentru ca mama lui să i se alăture. A debutat pentru Sporting împotriva echipei Moreirense, marcând două goluri. A participat de asemenea în echipa sub 17 a Portugaliei la campionatul european de tineret.

A debutat la Manchester United în minutul 60 al unui meci împotriva celor de la Bolton Wanderers F.C., disputat pe Old Trafford. United conducea cu 1-0, dar la numai câteva minute de la intrarea pe teren, Cristiano Ronaldo a obţinut un penalty, ratat însă de Ruud van Nistelrooy,(acesta a fost motivul scandalului care s-a incheiat prin plecarea olandezului). SRK miffed with his team's continous defeat
Shahrukh Khan, the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders is miffed with his team's continous loss. His team is performing so badly in the IPL season 2 in South Africa that he has decided to fly back to India and come back only after they start winning. The KKR lost in 4 of the 5 matches that they have played till now.Well, Shahrukh Khan will be flying back to India with his wife Gauri, son Aryan and daughter Suhana. Apart from his team poor performance, another reason of his coming back to India is the upcoming Lok Sabha poll in which Shahrukh Khan and his wife will cast their votes. It has been known that King Khan had made it clear to his team that he will come back to SA to cheer for them only after they start winning and if they lose, he won't be coming back but shout at them from home.
Now the million-dollar question is whether Shahrukh will come back to South Africa to boost up the morale of his defeating team or stay back.

Akshay donated money to ail actor
A generous side of stunt hero akshay Kumar has been seen recently. He donated a cheque of Rs six lakhs to ail actor Vallabh Vyas who was part of Lagaan and Chandni Bar. Akki does know the actor personally but when he heard about Vallabh's illness, he decided to help him out.Akshay came to know about Vallabh's sickness when one of Vallabh's friends was shooting with Akki. On knowing that no one from the film industry is coming forward to help him out, Akshay turned saddened and decided to help Vallabh with funds.
A source reveals, "Vallabh suffered from brain hemorrhage some time back and he needed money for surgery. Actor Manoj Joshi, who is friends with Vallabh and has been helping collect money for the surgery".
While shooting with him recently, Joshi mentioned his efforts to raise funds for Vallabh's surgery, and the actor enquired what was the total amount needed.
When he learned it was six lakhs, Akki immediately signed a cheque for the entire amount and gave it to him.

Last tribute paid to Feroz Khan
Late actor Feroz Khan who lived life King Size was given the last tribute by his family members, friends and fans. As his deceased body was moved out of the mortuary van, a huge crowd gathered to get the last glimpse of their matinee idol.Late actor-director-producer Feroz Khan was given a grand farewell by his dear ones. His last ritual took place at Hosur road, Shia Kabrastan on Monday. While bidding last adieu to their father, Feroz Khan's children Fardeen Khan and Laila Khan broke down several times.
Feroz Khan's last journey was witnessed by many Bollywood fraternities like his leading lady Mumtaz, Sajid Khan and his wife Farah, Farah Khan. Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne Khan also arrived to pay the last tribute to the actor, who was known for his unique style of acting and directing.
Feroz Khan was fighting against the deadly disease cancer for 12 months long and at last breathed the last on Sunday. Born and brought up in Bangalore, Feroz Khan will always be remembered for his films like 'Qurbani', 'JaanBaaz', 'Dharmatma', 'Dayavan'.

Ash with Vivek again
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is going to star with her ex lover Vivek Oberoi again. The film in question is titled, 'Tansen' to be directed by Satish Kaushik and to be produced by Rajshri Productions. It will also have Abhishek Bachchan and Anil Kapoor in the pivotal role.'Tansen' is said to be one of the costliest film to be ever made in India. The film is based on the real life incident of Mughal court singer. The main role of 'Tansen' will be played by Abhishek Bachchan. The film will be shot in Bangkok first and then in Australia and New Zealand.
As the cast and the crew have been decided, the shooting of the film will be commenced from next month.

Kangana to play Madhubala
The actress who is more equipped in playing traumatized woman in films is facing a great challenge as she is going to play the role of immortalized beauty, Madhubala. To play yesteryears tender beauty is a great challenge for Kangana and she is in great thought as how to portray the role. The film is question is Milan Luthria's film, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’. Interestingly, the film will speak the very tender romance between the yesteryear actress and underworld don Haji Mastan which will be played by Ajay Devgan.Extremely in fear, Kangana said, "I’ve never thought of myself as beautiful. In fact I’ve always suffered from the lowest self-esteem. Till recently, I’d look at my pictures and cringe. I still have the pictures from my first portfolio I got done in Chandigarh. They remind me of how ugly I can look. And to now play Madhubala in ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’. How will I do it?"
"I`m proud of my so-called territory as an actress. If playing traumatized women is my territory then I’m glad. Because I know I’m good at it. Madhubala`s role is not as tragic as my other roles. It’s basically a very tender romance between this really funny don (played by Ajay Devgan) and this female superstar who can’t understand his personality. How will I manage to play the most beautiful woman that Indian cinema has ever seen? My characters have always had a dark and light side. And this one is no exception. But the challenge for me is to look almost ethereally beautiful, like Madhubala. How will I manage that?" says Kangana.
However to get into the skin of the female lead, Kangana is watching loads of Madhubala films these days. Now it’s time to see Kangana in a totally new avatar.

Adhyayan Suman in love with Kangana Ranaut
Only one film old and Adhyayan Suman started hitting the headlines for his love life. He fell deeply in love with Gangster actress Kangana Ranaut. Shekhar Suman’s son feels no hesitation in declaring his love to the world. He said, "Yes, I am seeing Kangana. I am in a serious relationship with her. It's not that we got close in South Africa; we were dating since quite some time but I didn’t want to talk about it so quickly. It’s time that I put an end to all speculations."They fell for each other while shooting for Mohit Suri’s Raaz – The Mystery Continues. Prior to Adhyayan, Kangana had been in a relationship with veteran actor Aditya Panscholi and Tamil actor Jeyam Ravi. But neither of her relationship lasted long. How Adhyayan fell in love with Kangana
Adhyayan Suman has just stepped into Bollywood and he fell in love with the co-star of his second flick Kangana Ranaut. Kangana and Adhyayan have developed feelings for one another while shooting for the Bhatts, Raaz-The Mystery Continues. Adhyayan is so obsessed with lady that he vowed not to look deeply into the eyes of any other actress while shooting a romantic sequence."I fell in love with Kangana while shooting the song O Jaana. I had looked very deeply into her eyes." And what was it that he saw in her eyes? "The way she had put her kaajal," he laughs. "In fact, I have decided never to look so deeply into the eyes of another actress."
He adds, "I always knew that even Kangana liked me." So who proposed? "Kangana did [Laughs]. Actually, it was very mutual and obvious," he smiles.
The 20-year-old actor is full of praises for Kangana,"“She is a wonderful co-star. I have got to learn a lot from her. I don’t want to be known as Kangana Ranut’s boyfriend."
Adhyayan wants to establish himself in Bollywood and wishes to make his father Shekhar Suman proud. He debuted with Haal-E-Dil.

Fashion cast at Lakme Fashion Week
Priyanka Chopra seems to be everywhere these days as for the last few months she has been continuously promoting her films. And though she promoted her last two films immensely, they did not work at the bo-office, but she has not lost hope. Priyanka is back again with a bang and she was seen walking the ramp in a funky mini purple bubble dress, also promoting her forthcoming film Fashion. Priyanka has all her hopes pinned on this film and she surely can't afford another flop.
The entire female cast of Fashion, Priyanka, Kangana and Mughda Godse walked the ramp for designer Narendra Kumar at the Lakme Fashion Week 2008. The girls also promoted their forthcoming film, Fashion on the ramp. The film deals with the pros and cons of the fashion world, and many real life instances have been incorporated into the film. Director Madhur Bhandarkar hopes that this authenticity will enhance the film.
Kangana Ranaut may have been in the limelight for her personal life recently, but now with the film Fashion, she hopes to focus on her career. Kangana looked hot in a sexy bright orange dress which had a super plunging neck line. Apparently in the film, Kangana has enacted a scene where her top comes off while walking on the ramp. Kangana was also miffed with director Madhur for promoting Priyanka more in the promos. We'll have to wait and see if this film turns out to be Priyanka's or Kanganas'.

Shilpa, Raj’s mother discuss marriage
Though heavy downpour spoiled Shilpa’s Rajasthan Royals game with Mumbai Indians, she is not at all heartbroken but quite optimistic about her team. If on one side nothing fruitful is happening with her team while on the other side a new development is taking place. Shilpa and Raj’s mom met nearby Cape Town and discussed the duo’ relationship and wedding in details.Shilpa divulged and added, "Yes, Raj’s mom and my mom stayed back in Cape Town while we came to Durban . So what if the rains washed away our cricket matches There’s the other match that happens soon. Such things happen and we just have to move on to our next game”.
While speaking about the progression of her relationship, Shilpa sounds quite happy and quips that her mom and would be mom-in-law are having a gala time together and they have discussed some important matter about their future while her father mainly concern about the IPL than her.

Its official: Preity breaks up with Ness
Speculation is now ripe that Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia are having a real trouble in their paradise. An E-mail sent by Preity to her team clears the cloud that the couple is no longer into any kind of personal relationship and is linked up only professionally. Preity being very straight forward and outspoken clears the air to her team members as they were in utter confused state as what kind of relationship she is presently sharing with Ness. She does not want her boys to get distracted by any issue and wanted them to concentrate on the game only.More Preity is acting smart about her relationship with the Bombay Dying scion, the more Ness is hesitant to call it a quit. Shoe thrown at Jeetendra
After former US President George W. Bush, many politicians became victimized of public slipper. The latest to become wronged with shoe shower is the well-behaved and gentle actor Jeetendra. While addressing a public rally, organized by the Congress candidate Manikrao Gavit in the town of Nandurbar an unidentified person from the crowd threw slipper at him. The incident took place on Tuesday.As the gathering was around 3,000, the culprit who actually threw slipper at him was somewhat difficult to be tagged but however party activists immediately took hold of the offender. He has been identified as Dilip Ingle and what made him to show his aggravation in this way is not yet known.
As Jeetendra was not expecting such type of ill treatment to be meted out to him, he was obviously very unhappy.
